"Heroyika" is a charitable foundation, which was established in Ukraine in 2010 as a public initiative, core activities of which involve building monuments and memorials to the defenders of Ukrainian independence. Young people from different regions of the country came together to mark the space of our Motherland with Ukrainian military symbols, to affirm the ideas of statehood and freedom-loving Ukrainians. We started our work on the construction of the first monument to the freedom fighters of Ukraine in the south of our country (the village of Zmiyivka in the Kherson region). In 2013, "Heroyika" was registered as a charitable foundation. In 2014-2016, we aided Ukrainian military units: Donbass, Azov, 30th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Currently, "Heroyika" is looking for and arranging Ukrainian military burials, erecting monuments and memorials on the battlefields, military campaigns and in memory of fallen Ukrainian soldiers. We have implemented 33 memorial projects throughout Ukraine. Each project of the foundation has three stages of implementation: historical research, design and fundraising, construction and unveiling. In 2020, our foundation launched an electronic database "Names of Independent Ukraine", which contains 18 thousand biographical references of soldiers of the Ukrainian People's Republic Army. We are looking for volunteers and like-minded people to work together to honor Ukrainian soldiers and promote sacrifice and love for Ukraine.
Our goal is to study and promote Ukrainian military history. Our priority is to commemorate the armed struggle of the Army of the Ukrainian People’s Republic, but the foundation is also working on other projects related to the history of the Galician Army, the Ukrainian Military Organization, the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, and the latest Russian-Ukrainian war. Firstly, we want to find like-minded people in the central, southern, and eastern regions of Ukraine who will not only help with the construction of military memorials and monuments but will also be able to care for new memorials and organize local communities for memorial events.
